Great Dane's Kewanee Plant expands to add dedicated converter dolly assembly line

Converter dollies* need to be well designed, robust, agile—and well built to properly handle the unique coupling applications for which they are made. In the construction of its single-axle converter dollies, Great Dane leaves nothing to chance. That's why it has singled out its Kewanee plant to build a dedicated production line for its dollies. The expansion of the facility is no small task; it includes adding 58,000 square feet to house the new line and extra warehouse space. Work on the plant is to be complete the first part of 2014.

The new line will improve throughput, reduce work in process time and increase efficiency in the dolly manufacturing process.

Like all Great Dane trailers, there are standard single-axle dolly models, but since "one size does not fit all" all dollies manufactured at the plant are engineered to the customer's specific needs. Whether standard or customized, the quality is built in. The single-axle converter dolly uses I-beam construction and the highest quality components. In addition, it is backed by Great Dane's exceptional service and warranty.
The expansion of the Kewanee plant to include converter dolly production means that not only are these dollies produced quickly and efficiently, but also the plant is able to enhance its dry freight van production, quality and efficiency by having the dedicated single-axle dolly line. You know you are getting the best when you purchase from the industry leader (Great Dane currently produces 45% of the converter dollies on the market today).

* Converter dollies are also known as: con gears or converter gears—whatever name you
use when buying the Great Dane dolly you know you are purchasing a product of
exceptional quality.
