Louisville, KY - (March 26, 2014) Visitors to Great Dane's Booth #34075 at the 2014 Mid-America Trucking Show will have hands-on exposure to innovations in both current and future trailer design, all focusing on maximizing the operating efficiency and service life of Great Dane trailers. The show takes place from March 27-29 at the Kentucky Exposition Center in Louisville.
In keeping with Great Dane's "Drive Away With More" value proposition, the company's 2014 MATS booth will feature interactive displays that allow visitors to get "up-close and personal" with the company's high-performance equipment, including an Everest Series reefer and two Freedom Series flatbeds. Great Dane's booth will also host the industry's first viewing of the Walmart Advanced Vehicle Experience—a futuristic truck/dry van prototype vehicle built for Walmart by a project team including Great Dane, Peterbilt and Capstone Turbine.
Additional interactive displays will showcase Great Dane's exclusive CorroGuard anti-corrosion coating (now available on the main beam of Freedom Series flatbeds), as well as a new iPad® app that was developed to demonstrate the benefits of Great Dane's patented ThermoGuard reefer liner.
"At Great Dane our pace of innovation and growth is continuing to accelerate," said Dean Engelage, Great Dane's President. "This year's MATS show provides us with a great opportunity to demonstrate the many ways our trailers help lower the total cost of trailer ownership for customers throughout the Americas."
Featured Show Trailers
Highlighted in Great Dane's 2014 MATS booth will be three of the company's latest trailers, all featuring an impressive range of standard features such as Accuride wheels with advanced Steel ArmorTM powder-coating technology; the Platinum Performance PlusTM wheel-end system with exclusive six-year limited warranty, and Grote's Long-Life Light System with 100% LED MicroNovaTM DOT lamps, dual-intensity stop lights and a fully sealed modular wiring harness covered by a ten-year warranty.
Weight-Saving Everest TL Reefer
Great Dane's Everest TL reefer goes the distance to meet the demands of the long-haul truckload carrier at a competitive price, featuring industry-leading lightweight technology, unparalleled thermal efficiency and exceptional durability. As part of Great Dane's ongoing push to lower the weight of its reefers without sacrificing safety or performance, this year's MATS booth will feature a specially built prototype with design and construction advances that reduce the trailer's weight to less than 12,000 lbs. This notable goal was achieved through extensive R&D that allowed Great Dane engineers to "push the envelope" with enhancements such as new extrusion designs, new adhesives, and a state-of-the- art foaming process that enhances thermal efficiency, trailer strength and ease of repair. In addition to its wide range of standard features, the Everest TL show trailer also features ThermoGuard lining in the floors, wall and ceiling; a PunctureGuard bonded scuffband; Hendrickson's new Ultraa-KTM air slider suspension and Accuride aluminum disc wheels with premium Accu-ArmorTM surface treatment.
Freedom LT Flatbed with CorroGuard Mainbeam
Great Dane's versatile Freedom LT flatbed trailer combines steel and aluminum construction to provide a lightweight, low maintenance product with a lasting appearance and outstanding long-term value. The Great Dane show trailer includes CorroGuard anti-corrosion coating on the trailer's mainbeam (a new option) as well as the undercarriage and support gear components. Other special features of the show trailer include an extended full-length rub rail, double pipe spools, a single coil hauling package with aluminum cross-members, a Hendrickson TireMaxx ProTM tire inflation system, and Accuride Accu-ShieldTM mirror-polish aluminum disc wheels.
Freedom XP Aluminum Flatbed with New Appearance Package
The all-aluminum Freedom XP flatbed trailer is nearly 1,000 pounds lighter than a comparable steel- aluminum trailer, and is rated to withstand 60,000-lb. loads in four-foot sections and up to 120,000 pounds of uniformly distributed loads. The MATS show trailer features the XP's new optional appearance package, designed to enhance the trailer's visual impact with features such as polished fill plates, added mud flaps and additional LED lighting. Other features on the show trailer include double pipe spools, a three-coil hauling package; a dunnage rack; a Hendrickson TireMaxx ProTM tire inflation system; Accuride Accu-ShieldTM mirror polish aluminum disc wheels and an AirWeigh digital scale.
